Our Technology

Digital radiography equipment for low-radiation dental x-rays at Regency Dental Care in Palatine, IL

Digital Radiography

Capturing and archiving dental x-rays digitally is the newest approach in dentistry, and it comes with a clear advantage: far less radiation than traditional dental x-rays. Rather than film, the technique records a digital picture of your teeth and supporting bone structures, saving the images straight to a computer here in our Palatine office.

Because the images are on screen in moments, you and Dr. Liana Tremmel can review them together and enlarge any area to spot dental problems and gauge your overall dental health. From there, Dr. Liana Tremmel builds an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Intra-oral camera for detailed dental imaging at Regency Dental Care in Palatine, IL

Intra-Oral Camera

About the size of a pen, the intra-oral camera is a compact video camera that captures detailed pictures of your teeth and the surrounding tissue. We save those digital images to our system and display them for you right in the treatment room, so what we see, you see too.

That shared view turns each visit into a kind of “co-diagnosis” of your own dental health. Pointing out a filling that has cracked or discolored, we can walk you through a real tour of your own mouth. Few tools have done more to help our patients grasp what is happening and feel confident in the care decisions they make.

PerioLase MVP-7 Nd:YAG dental laser used for LANAP at Regency Dental Care in Palatine, IL

Nd:YAG Laser

By focusing one specific wavelength of light, the Nd:YAG (Neodymium-Doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) dental laser can cut and coagulate soft tissues safely in a single pass. That precision makes it highly effective for treating gum disease (such as LANAP), decontaminating root canals, and carrying out gum surgeries with minimal pain, swelling, or bleeding.

Dental panoramic X-ray showing the full mouth in a single image at Regency Dental Care in Palatine, IL

Panoramic Imaging

In one continuous pass, a dental panoramic X-ray (or orthopantomogram) records the entire mouth (including teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures) as a single 2D extraoral image. That wide, all-at-once view is ideal for orthodontic evaluations, wisdom teeth assessment, and implant planning.
